A prestigious international labor and employment law firm is seeking a highly skilled Litigation Secretary to support the needs of its San Diego office for a 5-month contract position. Primary Responsibilities of the Litigation Secretary include:
- Document Preparation: Prepare and format briefs, pleadings, correspondence, and other legal documents.
- Court Filings: File legal documents with state and federal courts, both electronically and traditionally.
- File Maintenance: Update and maintain client files, including electronically in the document management system.
- Calendar Management: Maintain attorney calendars using Outlook and CompuLaw, scheduling appointments and due dates.
- Meeting Coordination: Arrange meetings and conference calls, and handle orders for meals, refreshments, and equipment as needed.
- Travel Arrangements: Coordinate travel plans for assigned attorneys.
- Time Entry and Expense Management: Accurately enter, review, and revise timekeeper time entries, and prepare expense reimbursement requests.
- Vendor Invoice Management: Review and ensure accuracy of vendor invoices, prepare check requests, and submit invoices for payment.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of five years as a litigation legal secretary.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in MS Office, iManage or comparable document management systems, and CompuLaw (Aderant knowledge is a plus).
- Court Filing: Experience with both manual and e-filing in state and federal court.
- Document Formatting: Ability to accurately format documents adhering to firm standards, including tables of contents and authorities.
